But the honey orange color was a bit outdated. I decided a white wash would bring it up to date and feel really modern in any living room. ~ before ~ the finish is a bit orange on this table, let's strip the top coat and refinish it. ~ in progress ~ after the top coat was stripped off, I cleaned off all the residue with mineral spirits and gave it a full sanding with 120 grit, then 220. ~ in progress ~ after sanding I cleaned off all the dust. ~ in progress ~ and it's time for a paint wash. I chose a warm white paint color and diluted it with water. ~ in progress ~ after letting is soak in for a bit I wiped it off. ~ in progress ~ the first wash wasn't quite light enough so I did a second wash, and wiped it all off. I finished it all off with a satin poly top coat. ~ after ~ the light finish is a nice refresh and still shows all the interesting wood grain, with just a bit less contrast than before. ~ after ~ still loving those curved edges in the upgraded off white finish. ~ after ~ Slide 1 Slide 1 (current slide) Slide 2 Slide 2 (current slide) Slide 3 Slide 3 (current slide) Slide 4 Slide 4 (current slide) Slide 5 Slide 5 (current slide) Slide 6 Slide 6 (current slide) Slide 7 Slide 7 (current slide) Slide 8 Slide 8 (current slide) Slide 9 Slide 9 (current slide)
