Honey Oak Coffee Table Refinish. *
The rounded edges on this solid oak coffee table are lovely with a subtle retro vibe. But the honey orange color was a bit outdated. I decided a white wash would bring it up to date and feel really modern in any living room.

~ before ~ the finish is a bit orange on this table, let's strip the top coat and refinish it.

~ in progress ~ after the top coat was stripped off, I cleaned off all the residue with mineral spirits and gave it a full sanding with 120 grit, then 220.

~ in progress ~ after sanding I cleaned off all the dust.

~ in progress ~ and it's time for a paint wash. I chose a warm white paint color and diluted it with water.

~ in progress ~ after letting is soak in for a bit I wiped it off.

~ in progress ~ the first wash wasn't quite light enough so I did a second wash, and wiped it all off. I finished it all off with a satin poly top coat.

~ after ~ the light finish is a nice refresh and still shows all the interesting wood grain, with just a bit less contrast than before.

~ after ~ still loving those curved edges in the upgraded off white finish.
